Sleep Deprivation

The worst thing you can do for your cardio engine room is catching up on lost shut-eye over the weekend. The “just one more episode” attitude at bedtime may lead to one less episode in life. Depleting your shut eye stock so you can catch up on the weekends is a very bad idea. A paper by The American Academy of Sleep Medicine found that every hour you lay in bed on the weekends is linked to an 11% increase in heart disease. Broken down, that means its weakening your ticker and leaving you more puffed when you’re on the run.  The solution is to snooze for the right amount of time and be more regular with your schedule. Set the alarm regardless of the day and you’ll be stronger and around for longer!
